My Journey in Computer Science
2026-09-16
My return to computer science, the experience I gained as a gymnastics coach, and the goals I want to pursue in software development.
Returning to computer science has been an important step in my professional journey. After putting my studies on hold to focus on my career as an artistic gymnastics coach, I decided to return to university and work towards a new goal: becoming a software engineer.
My background in coaching has shaped the way I approach learning and problem-solving. Working with athletes taught me the importance of patience, consistency, observation, and continuous improvement. These are principles I also try to apply when learning new technologies and developing software.
At the moment, I am focusing on strengthening my programming skills, understanding software development practices, and building projects that allow me to put theory into practice. This portfolio is part of that process: a place where I can showcase my work, document what I learn, and track my progress over time.
Looking ahead, I am particularly interested in software engineering and immersive technologies such as augmented and virtual reality. I would also like to explore computer vision and its potential applications in sport, an area that connects my background in gymnastics with my interest in technology.
This blog will be a record of that journey: the projects I build, the concepts I study, the challenges I encounter, and the lessons I learn along the way.
